Norwegian Minister of Defense Bjørn Arild Gram has announced that his country’s defense forces have recommended placing the ground forces’ sub-staff in Finland. Discussions about hosting the sub-staff in Finland have been ongoing since February, with Finnish Minister of Defense Antti Häkkänen informing NATO of their views on the matter during a recent NATO defense ministers’ meeting.
If approved, this move would likely see Norway play an active role in enhancing NATO’s capabilities and strengthening its presence in Europe.
