Samsung’s success was not limited to just one region, as it also had a 34% share in Europe and a 36% share in North America. The Galaxy S24 series performed exceptionally well in February, with 6.53 million units sold. Analysts attribute this success to the artificial intelligence features included in the new models, which attracted consumers who chose Samsung over Apple for these advancements.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi experienced significant growth in the fourth quarter of 2023, with a 23% year-on-year increase to 40.7 million units. HONOR and Huawei also saw growth, with HONOR growing 27% year-on-year and Huawei experiencing triple-digit growth. Samsung has an opportunity to further enhance its flagship smartphones before the new iPhone generation arrives, potentially solidifying its position in the market.

Rumors about the iPhone 16 suggest that it will feature significant advancements compared to the iPhone 15, including a new haptic button for camera and video recording. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro are expected to feature this new button, setting them apart as professional tools. As Samsung continues to innovate and market its devices, competition in the smartphone market is sure to heat up.

In summary, Samsung surpassed Apple as the leader in global smartphone sales thanks to its successful launch of its flagship Galaxy S24 series that attracted consumers with advanced AI features included in their models.
