The board of directors approved a request for proposals (RFP) in early May to select a search firm.
After serving as President and CEO for 14 years, Genevieve Silverman left Nexus Louisiana. Entrepreneur and former board chairman Calvin Mills has been serving as the interim CEO since her departure. Despite initially not having ambitions of becoming the organization’s top executive, Mills felt compelled to step in when he received the call for leadership. Financial records showed a budget shortfall of $280,771 in the year Silverman left, with revenues of $2,578,258 and expenses totaling $2,859,029.
Mills had been focused on his software company prior to his role as interim CEO and never imagined taking on the leadership position at Nexus Louisiana.
